Man City Whizkid Iheanacho Keeps To His Word, Arrives In Nigeria For Tanzania Tie
Published: August 30, 2016Manchester City attacker Kelechi Iheanacho will honour the invitation for the African Cup of Nations qualifying match against Tanzania on Saturday.
There had been fears that the City number 72 would skip the game as he was sighted in Manchester on Monday afternoon, and was a non-playing substitute last weekend in the Premier League, fueling speculation that he has not fully recovered from a minor ailment.
“Kelechi called me this morning from Abuja before he boarded a flight to Uyo. He is here for the match, ” Kelechi’s dad, James Iheanacho, told allnigeriasoccer.com on Tuesday afternoon.
The 19-year-old Iheanacho scored the game-winner against Mali in an international friendly held in France in May, then netted his second goal for the Super Eagles few days later against Luxembourg.
The Taye Academy product debuted for the senior national team in 2015 after starring for the Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles.
