Liverpool Striker Taiwo Awoniyi To Start Training With NEC Midweek
Published: August 29, 2016Nigeria U23 international Taiwo Awoniyi is expected to have his first training session with the first team of NEC Nijmegen as from Wednesday, August 31.
The Dutch Eredivisie side and Awoniyi’s parent club Liverpool have announced that they have struck a deal which will see the attacker remain on loan at the Stadion de Goffert outfit until the end of the 2016-2017 season.
The striker has traveled to Holland but can’t participate in official games because he has not been granted a work permit.
NEC Nijmegen are hoping the required paperwork will be in place before the close of the transfer window this week.
The 19-year-old Awoniyi spent last season on loan at German club FSV Frankfurt.
