Mourinho Says He Will Select Nigerian Whizkid Kehinde Ahead Of Schweinsteiger
Published: August 26, 2016Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has hinted that he will select Nigerian midfielder Tosin Kehinde and other youngsters in the academy ahead of Bastian Schweinsteiger.
The German has been declared surplus to requirements by Mourinho, but he has vowed to remain at Old Trafford and fight for a first-team shirt, adding that Manchester United will be his last club in Europe.
“If we have any kind of problem or opportunity, I have a few young players in the academy that I will be more than happy to accelerate their process by bringing them up, ” Jose Mourinho said.
“I think it’s very difficult for Schweinsteiger to play this season. I’m not saying it’s impossible. I’m saying it’s very difficult. ”
Bastian Schweinsteiger is training alongside Tosin Kehinde in the reserve team of the Red Devils.
Though the Nigerian has not made his competitive debut for Manchester United two years after his arrival at the club, he has been tipped to break into the first team in the near future.
