Chelsea Star Mikel : We Must Make Sure We Defend Really Well
Published: August 13, 2016Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel is aware that the Dream Team have to raise their level of play when they confront Denmark in Salvador on Saturday night.
With coach Samson Siasia making up to five changes in his starting XI against Colombia, the Nigeria U23s lost 2-0, but Mikel has stressed that the players are not lacking confidence ahead of tonight’s clash at Itaipava Arena Fonte Nova.
“We must follow our plan to the end. It will be a difficult game and we have to keep focused for loss of concentration and focus, you are thrown out, ” said Mikel.
“We created a lot of chances and we know we can create chances and hurt the opponents. But we must also make sure that we defend really well.”
In their three group matches at the Games, the Samson Siasia-led side conceded six goals and scored six, with Etebo accounting for four of those strikes.
