Sports Minister Agrees To Pay Nigeria U23s Camp Allowances NOT Match Bonuses
Published: August 12, 2016Nigeria’s Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung, has promised to pay all the outstanding camp allowances of the Dream Team VI players and officials in the wake of the squad boycotting training on Thursday, August 11.
But he has refused to yield to the requests of the players of paying them match bonuses for the two games won against Japan and Sweden at the Olympic Games.
“The Minister said he doesn’t know what match bonus is, and it is only camp allowance that he will pay us, ” one of the players in Brazil told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“That is what is bringing the confusion, but we hope to train this afternoon. ”
Nigeria will attempt to qualify for the semifinals of the Olympic Games for the third time in their history when they tackle Denmark on Saturday night at Itaipava Arena Fonte Nova, Salvador.
