Super Eagles Remain The 16th Best Team In Africa In Updated Fifa Ranking
Published: August 11, 2016Football governing body, Fifa, on Thursday morning published its latest ranking of National Teams.
Compared to their position the previous month, the Super Eagles have climbed three places and now occupy the 67th position but they remain 16th in the continental ranking.
Algeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Egypt are the top five teams in Africa in that order.
Our other two rivals to book a ticket to the 2018 World Cup - Cameroon and Zambia - sit in the 54th and 91st place respectively in the updated ranking.
In the global ranking, 2014 World Cup vice-champions Argentina lead the way followed by Belgium, Colombia, Germany and Chile.
The next ranking will be published by the official website of Fifa, fifa.com, on September 15, 2016.
