Four Nigerians Feature As Viking Are Taught A Lesson By Arsenal
Published: August 05, 2016Four players of Nigerian descent were on parade at the Viking Stadion (Stavanger) as Arsenal enjoyed a comprehensive 8-0 win over Norwegian topflight club Viking on Friday night.
Usman Sale and Samuel Adegbenro played the first forty five minutes for the Tippeligaen side, while Hale End Academy products Alex Iwobi and Chuba Akpom came on in the 46th and 70th minute respectively.
The Gunners were leading 1-0 until the introduction of the Nigeria international, who added more bite to their attack.
Iwobi set up Campbell for Arsenal’s fifth goal, then went on to score in the 71st minute before grabbing his brace ten minutes later.
England U21 international Chuba Akpom scored his third goal in pre-season with one minute remaining.
Next up, Arsenal square off against Manchester City in their last warmup game at the Nya Ullevi (Göteborg).
