Eight Nigerian Young Stars Not Picked As Arsenal Name Squad For Scandinavia Tour
Published: August 04, 2016Arsenal have named their squad for the tour of Scandinavia, where they will face Kelechi Iheanacho’s Manchester City and Samuel Adegbenro’s Viking in pre-season fixtures.
Super Eagles rising star Alex Iwobi is in the squad as you would expect and he is joined in the 25-man squad by fellow Hale End Academy product and childhood pal Chuba Akpom.
But there is no place in the roster for new signing Kelechi Nwakali, who penned a five-year deal with Arsenal on Wednesday.
Youngsters Tolaji Bola, Aaron Eyoma, Xavier Amaechi, Olayinka, Joseph Olowu, Toby Omole and goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo have not trained with the first team since the start of pre-season, so have been left out of the traveling party.
The Gunners tackle Viking on Friday evening before meeting Premier League foes Man City two days later.
