Five Players Of Nigerian Descent Named In England Squad For U19 Euros
Published: July 06, 2016Five players of Nigerian descent have been selected by England U19s manager Aidy Boothroyd for the upcoming European Championship Finals in Germany.
Eighteen players will represent the Young Lions during the tourney, with Dominic Solanke (Chelsea), Sheyi Ojo (Liverpool), Joshua Onomah (Tottenham Hotspur), Ademola Lookman (Charlton Athletic) and Fikayo Tomori (Chelsea) making the squad list.
Lookman and Tomori are yet to make their competitive debut for England but made the squad list nonetheless, having impressed the manager during the training camp.
Tomori represented the U20 team of Canada before he switched allegiance to England, then made his debut for the U19s last month in a friendly against Mexico.
The England U19s will face France, Netherlands and Croatia in the group stage of the competition.

Defenders (6): Callum Connolly (Everton), Dael Fry (Middlesbrough), Jonjoe Kenny (Everton), Taylor Moore (RC Lens), Fikayo Tomori (Chelsea), Kyle Walker-Peters (Tottenham Hotspur)
