Roma Starlet Ponders Quitting Nigeria U23s Team After Death Of Dad
Published: July 04, 2016Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Roma striker Sadiq Umar is pondering his future with the Nigeria U23 national team following the death of his father on Friday, July 1.
The 19-year-old has left the Dream Team VI training camp in Atlanta, United States, and is presently in Kaduna having landed in the country around 1600 hours on Sunday.
Umar has said that he wants to be close to his family in their period of mourning and has not set a date on a potential return to the Nigeria U23s.
The Future of Africa Academy product was very close to his dad, who played for the famous Ranchers Bees of Kaduna before his retirement.
Sadiq Umar’s father had an excellent relationship with interim Super Eagles coach Salisu Yusuf before he passed away at Kabala Hospital Kaduna.
