Birmingham City Winger Solomon-Otabor Starts Training With Nigeria U23s This Week
Published: June 20, 2016Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Birmingham City winger Viv Solomon-Otabor will start training with the Nigeria U23s in Abuja this week, ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The initial plan was that Viv would have linked up with the squad in Manchester, but it appears the team will no longer train in England, with the invited players only visiting the United States embassy last Thursday.
Should the former Crystal Palace starlet impress Samson Siasia during the get-together in Abuja, the manager will not have any excuse not to include him in the traveling party to Atlanta, as the exciting winger is in the possession of a British passport.
The 20-year-old Solomon-Otabor trained with the Dream Team VI last summer and was one of the foreign pros considered for the Africa U23 Cup of Nations in December.
Birmingham City have permitted their Young Player of the Year to represent Nigeria at the Olympic Games if he is named to the 18-man roster.
