Ikorodu Utd Involved In Fatal Accident; LMC May Postpone Tie
Published: June 18, 2016Ikorodu United FC of Lagos were involved in a fatal auto crash yesterday while travelling to Markudi to have a Nigeria Professional Football League date with Lobi Stars FC of Markurdi.
The accident occurred around 9th Mile area of Enugu and resulted in the death of several persons.
Oga boys, as Ikorodu United Players are fondly called were travelling in a Chisco Marco Polo luxury bus but players and officials of the team were said to have sustained minor injuries and are receiving treatment in a nearby hospital.
The accident occurred at about 4pm and the organisers of the league, the League Management Company, LMC, has been notified and the fixture with Lobi Stars might be rescheduled.
