Siasia Explains Why Dream Team Lost To South Korea
Published: June 02, 2016Dream Team VI coach Samson Siasia has explained that his side lost their first game at the Suwon Invitational Tournament due to fatigue, and suggested that the players did not play to instructions in the closing minutes of the encounter at the Suwon World Cup Stadium.
Indeed, the Nigeria U23s arrived in Seoul just two days before Thursday’s game and had only one training session before facing the Asians.
“The flight didn’t help matters, but then that is not an excuse for us not getting at least a point from this game,” Siasia told reporters at a press conference, according to thenff.com.
“The goal scored by the Koreans was made possible because my players were adopting offside tactics.
“I don’t know where they got that idea from as we have never kept offside in all our trainings and games.”
The Nigeria U23s will be hoping to return to winning ways on Saturday when they tackle Denmark.
