USA U23s Star Of Nigerian Heritage Alashe Rescues Points For SJ Earthquakes
Fatai Alashe netted an 87th minute equalizer to rescue a 1-1 draw for San Jose Earthquakes in their Major League Soccer clash against LA Galaxy on Sunday.

The home team thought they had snatched all three points when Marvell Wynne scored an own goal after 83 minutes but Alashe, a United States U23 international, had the final say when he headed past goalkeeper Brian Rowe.

The 22-year-old’s strike was his fourth goal for San Jose Earthquakes since he made his debut in the American topflight and his second of the season, having registered his name on the score sheet against New York Red Bulls on April 14.

Alashe played the full game at the StubHub Center, Carson, California while Switzerland international Innocent Emeghara did not make the 18-man squad.

SJ Earthquakes take on FC Dallas in their next game in the MLS.
