Giwa FC On Their Way To Lagos For League Tie With MFM, But Expelled By NFF
Published: May 20, 2016Giwa Football Club of Jos have been expelled from the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, by the League Management Company, LMC, for failing to honour three games cumulatively without any acceptable reason as stipulated in the statute of the organisers of the elite league.
The team failed to play three of their home games against Wikki Tourists of Bauchi, Akwa United of Uyo and Enyimba of Aba in the venue they were banished to following crowd violence in an earlier game with Enugu Rangers at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos last month.
The Plateau Elephants, as the club is fondly called can appeal the decision of the LMC not latter than 48 hours after receipt of official communication on the decision of expulsion.
Interestingly the playing staff were on their way to Lagos for a date with Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry, MFM, when they were communicated of the decision of the LMC.
All points accrued to Giwa fc have been nullified and all points accrued to Giwa’s opponents in the league have been erased.
Only 19 teams will conclude the 2015/2016 campaign of the NPFL unless and except the the appeals favour Giwa FC.
