Oyo SWAN Picks 26th May For Elections
Published: May 09, 2016The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Oyo State Chapter has picked 26th May for the much anticipated election after the tenure of its last executives lapsed since mid-last year.
A congress of the Oyo SWAN held on Friday 6th May at the Dapo Aderogba Hall of Oyo NUJ ratified the date and every other guideline stipulated for polls, mandating the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria Election Committee (SWANECO) to start on a fresh note.
Interested candidates, according to a statement issued by the secretary of the Oyo SWANECO, Olanrewaju Agiri, are expected to obtain form at the Oyo NUJ, Press Center from 9th to 13th while the forms should be submitted back by 16th with claims and objection slated for 23th to 25th of May.
Speaking in the same vein, the chairman of Oyo SWANECO Comrade Sola Oladapo has appealed to every members of the association in the State to eschew bickering that seems to be dragging the association back and embrace peace.
