Brian Idowu Expects Tough Game Against Mordovia
Published: April 14, 2016
Brian Idowu expects FC Mordovia to put up a fight when they tackle his club Amkar Perm in the Russian Premier League on Friday, April 15, despite losing 7-1 to CSKA Moscow last weekend.
The Russian-Nigerian stopper has pointed out that the Republic of Mordovia-based team scoured four times against the Army Men in the first round and have been unlucky in their games.
“People can look at the standings and see Mordovia in last place and think it would be a relatively easy game for Amkar but this is not the case,” Brian Idowu told Amkar Perm’s official webpage.
“Now this team is in such a state that they have nothing to lose. Yes, they lost the last match with CSKA with a score of 1: 7, but they scored four goals against the same team in the first round.
“They play well, but they were not lucky. You can not look at the standings. ”
Amkar Perm sit tenth on the table after 23 rounds while their opponents on Friday at the Stadion Start are bottom with 16 points garnered.
