Chicago Fire Striker Igboananike Nominated For MLS Goal Of The Week
Chicago Fire Designated Player Kennedy Igboananike narrowly missed out on the ceremonial Team of the Week for last weekend’s matches in Major League Soccer.

In a 4-4-2 formation, Shkelzen Gashi(Colorado Rapids) and Orlando City’s Brazilian star Kaka were chosen to lead the frontline, with Igboananike only making the bench.

The Nigerian attacker helped Chicago Fire beat Philadelphia Union 1-0 , scoring his second of the season in the 51st minute with a left-footed finish after he was teed up by Michael Harrington.

His goal against Philadelphia Union is one of the eight strikes nominated for the Goal of the Week and he’ll square off against Patrick Nyarko in the first round of voting.

Adam Jahn(San Jose Earthquakes),Luke Mulholland(RSL), Luis Solignac(Colorado Rapids),Justin Meram(Crew SC) and Orlando City pair Brek Shea and Kaka have also been shortlisted for the award.
