No Ifs, No Buts ! Samson Siasia Admits Nigeria Must Beat Egypt
Published: March 29, 2016Super Eagles interim coach Samson Siasia has conceded that his team have no choice but to beat the Pharaohs in front of a minimum of 40,000 fans on Tuesday night.
In Group G of the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualification standings, Nigeria are two points off first place, currently occupied by Egypt, meaning they must beat the North Africans at the Borg El-Arab Stadium or be eliminated.
“We know we have no choice but to win, so we will go all out. There is no alternative,” said Samson Siasia on arrival in Alexandria.
“All the players are aware of that fact and whoever gets to play tomorrow will fight very hard for the country.”
Both teams shared the spoils in last week’s game in Kaduna, with Mohamed Salah equalizing for the visitors in stoppage time.
