Maurice Edu To Spend At Least Three Months On The Sidelines
Published: March 10, 2016Major League Soccer outfit Philadelphia Union have informed via their official webpage that USA international Maurice Edu will spend a minimum of three months on the sidelines due to a stress fracture in his left leg.
The Nigerian-American, who is spending his third consecutive season with The U, sat out his team’s first game of the new season because of the ailment.
“We will be losing Maurice Edu for a significant amount of time...there’s a fracture there, he’ll be out a minimum of 3 months,” head coach Jim Curtin said.
A midfielder by trade, Edu has appeared 53 times for Philadelphia Union in the MLS, scoring 4 goals.
The 29-year-old began his professional career with Toronto followed by spells with Rangers(Scotland), Stoke City(England) and Bursaspor(Turkey).
