Anthony Ujah Admits Werder Bremen Were Lucky Against Schalke
Anthony Ujah has admitted that Werder Bremen were lucky to walk away from the Veltins-Arena with three points when they clashed with Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga on Sunday.

Indeed, the homers would have killed the game as a contest if they had buried their chances after taking the lead through Joel Matip in the fourth minute.

“Schalke could’ve ended the game after 20 minutes. We were actually lucky to go into half time at 1-1, ” Ujah told Werder’s official website.

“We used the break to talk lots and outlined our plans to play more offensively and confidently. We then got another two great goals.”

Next for Ujah and his teammates is an intriguing clash at home to high-flying Hertha BSC, who sit third in the standings.

“We have taken some important points but Hertha are tough opponents. They are well-organised and work as a team.

“We will pay no attention to their position in the table because every team is difficult to play in the Bundesliga.

“We want to get a sense of continuity in our game. But it’s good and the next game is very important, ” Ujah added.

The Werder Bremen number 21 notched his eighth goal of this season against Schalke 04 after 89 minutes at Gelsenkirchen.
