World Exclusive : Kelechi Nwakali To Cost Arsenal 2.5 Million Pounds, EPL Side To Pay 250,000 Pounds After Pre - Contract
Published: January 14, 2016According to information gathered by allnigeriasoccer.com’s editorial staff, Nigeria U17 international Kelechi Nwakali will cost Arsenal 2.5 million pounds if his transfer to the Emirates materializes when he attains the age of majority.
Contrary to speculations by majority of the local media in which they claimed that the total package for the Golden Eaglets skipper is £3.9 million, Arsenal are being cautious before they part with money and will only credit the domiciliary account of Diamond Academy Umuahia with ten percent of the transfer fee (£250,000) after the midfielder signs a preliminary contract.
In addition, the Gunners will pay Diamond Academy a maximum fee of £500,000 when he is officially registered as an English Premier League player or in other words when he is issued a work permit by the Home Office.
Arsenal will pay £20,000 for every start Kelechi Nwakali makes in the Premier League or Champions League but the amount to be remitted won’t exceed £500,000.
A sell - on clause has been inserted into the proposed contract , with Diamond Academy due to be paid a maximum of £1 million whenever the player is transferred to another club before the expiration of his deal.
Nwakali, who turns 18 in the summer, attracted interest from clubs in England, Greece, Italy and Portugal after he was selected the Most Valuable Player of the Fifa Under 17 World Cup.
