Pinnick Backing Super Eagles To Qualify For Afcon, World Cup
Published: December 31, 2015
The Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick is confident that the Super Eagles will qualify for the 2018 World Cup plus the next edition of the African Cup of Nations.
Pinnick has scored the administration of football high in 2015, with the Golden Eaglets winning the Fifa Under 17 World Cup and the Under 20s and Under 23s teams triumphing in Africa, while the Super Eagles are one of the 16 teams that will compete at the African Nations Championship in Rwanda.
“I make bold to say that year 2016 will be even better. We are looking to see the Eagles B win the African Nations Championship, the Super Eagles qualifying for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations and starting the race to Russia 2018 on a sound footing, and also planning for the women teams to excel at their various international championships, ” Pinnick said, according to thenff.com.
The Super Eagles are all but certain to qualify for the 2017 African Nations Cup if they beat Egypt home and away in March 2016 ,while the qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup begins next October.
