David Alaba Is Austrian Player Of The Year For Fifth Year In A Row
Published: December 17, 2015Bayern Munich wing-back David Alaba has been named Austria’s Footballer of the Year for the fifth time on the spin.
The Austria national - teamer was picked for the accolade ahead of Aleksandar Dragovic (Dynamo Kiev), Marko Arnautovic (Stoke City) and Zlatko Junuzovic (Werder Bremen).
Of the 10 Bundesliga coaches involved in the voting, nine chose David Alaba as the most outstanding footballer in 2015.
“This is a huge honor for me. I am very grateful to God for this award and also the coaches who voted for me, ” said David Alaba.
The 23 - year - old assisted Austria qualify for the finals of the European Championship for the first time in September and was an important member of the Bayern Munich squad that won the league in the 2014 - 15 season.
