Anthony Ujah Delighted With Superb Display Against Borussia Monchengladbach
Published: December 16, 2015
Anthony Ujah was delighted that Werder Bremen qualified for the
quarterfinals of the DFB Pokal on Tuesday night, thanks to their hard
fought 4 - 3 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach.
With the opponents pressing for an equalizer, the Nigeria international netted his tenth goal of the season to bring the scoreline to 4 - 2 , extinguishing any hope of a comeback with 12 minutes remaining.
“We knew that every team has a chance in the cup and we embraced that today, ” Ujah told werder.de.
“We piled on a lot of pressure in the first half but we didn’t score a goal. The face that we put four past Gladbach in one half makes me very proud.
“It was a superb performance from us and we’re all pleased to be in the next round.”
Ujah and his Werder Bremen teammates will return to action on Saturday when they tackle Eintracht Frankfurt in their final game of the year.
