“The first daughter of Yekini, Mariam that is schooling at Leicester University United Kingdom and the second one, Yemisi that had just gained admission to study law in University of Ilorin would be the ones to present the award to the winner.

Jubril Olanrewaju Mohammed who is also a member and spokesperson of the Yekini Foundation.
He added that the foundation is taken it one after the other, the first agenda is to have Yekini’s name immortalized and also promoting the foundation to be able to raise resources to support the education of the deceased two daughters.
Close contenders for the award according to statistics on the NPFL website are Esosa Igbinoba of Nasarawa United FC who has scored 15 goals while Adeniji Tunde of Sunshine Stars of Akure with 14 along Chisom Chikatara of Abia Warriors FC and Gbolahan Salami of Warri Wolves FC are closely chasing him but Bright Ejike of Heartland FC who has 13 goals could also spring
