Mighty Jets FC Disown Ali Abubakar
Published: November 08, 2015The management of Nigeria National League side, Mighty Jets FC of Jos has distanced itself from anything to do with Ali Abubakar and his so called Mighty Jets International.
The Media Officer of the team, Mbum Ferdinand, who spoke with allnigeriasoccer.com said management is aware that Ali Abubakar is using some section of the media to tarnish the good name of the Chairman, Godfrey Hamza, as well as creating issues out of nothing.
“Well, we are aware of appointments made by Ali Promoter and his Cohorts and all the bogus allegations against our Chairman but that’s not our business, Mighty Jets FC is different from Mighty Jets International, We are management members of Mighty Jets FC.”
“I laugh every time I read his comments on the pages of newspapers accusing the Chairman of mismanagement of funds and non payment of salaries, the Plateau State government started paying salaries in 2014 and the salaries are being paid directly to the
players by government Officials so I wonder where they get their information from.
“And talking about running costs which maybe they are mistaking for salaries not all the monies approved last year was released to us, the records are there to show we have nothing to hide. Even this year we only got ten million naira so far from government. ”
Ferdinand, who is a Sports Presenter with Plateau State owned radio and television, PRTVC, has however urged journalists to carry out proper investigations on very sensitive issues before going public.
“I am absolutely disappointed with some of our colleagues, I expect them to carry out proper forensics before going public, let them come to me I can take them to the Secretary of the Club as well as the Accountant so that they see things for themselves, we have nothing to hide.
Are you guys even aware that there is a case in Court on this issue right now and we are not supposed to be involved in the Club ownership tussle until the Court proceedings are over?”.
Ferdinand added by urging members of the public to disregard Ali Promoter and his group, calling them mere scavengers looking for where to perch.
It would be recalled that not too long ago Alhaji Ali Abubakar aka Ali Promoter had made some appointments saying he has dissolved the Godfrey Hamza-led Management but the President of the Club, Alhaji Ismaila Mabo, rubbished Ali Promoter’s statement.
Meanwhile, Mabo has said he wouldn’t make any further comment on this issue until after the court case.
