Idoko Praises Nigeria Nationwide League But Urges Board To Do More
Published: November 01, 2015
The Chairman of Nigeria Nationwide Division Two Club, Vet Rovers FC of Vom, Anebi Idoko, has praised the efforts of the Board of the Nigeria Nationwide League for the various levels of innovations they have infused in the system but at the same time urged the body to do more at the area of referees education.
Idoko, who is a staff of the National Veterinary Research Institute, NVRI, in Vom said the league would have been better but for the gross misbehavior of some match officials who are deliberately bent on taking sides with home teams for selfish reasons.
“It is very disappointing when you build a good team that can win the league and some persons for selfish reasons would decide to truncate your efforts, we have one of the best teams in nationwide leagues and can contest favourably with even top division sides but poor officiating has continually denied promotion over the years” .
The administrator added that if the league body can take a cue from the League Management Company, LMC, and monitor the conducts of referees through coverage and erring ones sanctioned, he believes there would be massive improvement in the league.
Meanwhile, Vet Rovers FC are preparing hard ahead of their title defense of the Research Institute Games which they won last year.
The Management of NVRI, has given the team all the support it will need to succeed at the Games.
NVRI are the football defending champions of the RIGAN games.
