NIMASA Acting DG Backs FCT Veterans Shield Football Tourney

With some days to the kickoff of the maiden edition of the FCT Veterans Shield Football Tournament slated for October 25th, the Acting DG of Nigeria Maritime and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Mr. Haruna Jauro has backed the organizers of the tournament and encouraged them to stage a tournament that will make history.
Speaking with newsmen Tuesday afternoon at the venue of the tournament, the chairman of the LOC Mr.Umar Giwa Platini, “as you can see, arrangements are on top gear as we are working round the clock to ensure that we accomplish the task ahead of us.”
Responding to questions by the newsmen, he further stated that the tournament has received support from corporate organizations and some individuals.
“We have to reason not to stage a very classic tournament as we have received a very encouraging support from the Acting DG of NIMASA, ZAURA ENERGY and some notable individuals. All eyes are on me and my team and hopefully, we shall not fail.”
The tournament kicks off on Sunday 25th October, 2015 at the FCT Sports Complex, Area 3, Garki, Abuja by 4:00pm. News has it that FCT Coaches Association FC has been training four times a week because of the tournament.
The Head Marketing and Branding Mr. Uwaeme Promise who spoke with newsmen before the kickoff of the first match of Day 2 of the ongoing Nigeria Women Amateur League Playoff stated “We are almost good to go and I believe that everything will be in place on or before Saturday for the kick off on Sunday.
“Thus, we are planning a low key opening ceremony but a very big event will definitely be use to mark the end of the tournament as we are planning a Gala Night at the end.”
News has it that FCT Coaches Association FC has been training four times a week in preparation to the tournament and in the other hand, Aleita Allstars FC is set to trade tackles with the FCT Coaches on day one of the tourney.
