Fanendo Adi Sets New Record After Brace Against LA Galaxy
Fanendo Adi’s Portland Timbers are poised to qualify for the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoff after thrashing LA Galaxy 5 - 2 on game week 33, with their Nigerian forward netting a brace at the Stubhub Center (Carson, California).

Adi first hit target in the 65th minute to make the score 1 - 1 before grabbing his second goal of the night from the spot three minutes later.

Having netted 15 times, the ex Dynamo Kiev and AS Trencin man is now level with Super Eagles star Obafemi Martins as the top Nigerian scorers in the American topflight.

Eight of Adi’s goals came in away matches and he has now overtaken Darlington Nagbe as the Timbers player with the most goals scored on the road in a single - season.

Portland Timbers will next be in action on October 26 when they tackle Colorado Rapids at Providence Park in Oregon, and need only a draw to be guaranteed a play - off spot.
