Oyo State Football War Gets Messier, As IFA boss Alleges Threat To Life
Published: October 10, 2015Following the ten - year ban placed the Chairman of Ibadan Football Association (IFA) Alhaji Banji Akintayo by Oyo State Football Association and his members after being found guilty by the panel of investigation constituted to investigate corruption allegations leveled against the IFA boss, he is seeking Police intervention and has alleged threat to his life.
The IFA boss told newsmen in a press briefing organized at Obafemi Awolowo Stadium Ibadan where they presented documents in defense of corruption allegation leveled against them said his life is not save again since he had instituted a legal action against Oyo FA chairman, Chief James Odeniran.
Alhaji Akintayo explained that his lawyer has served Oyo FA boss a =N=10 million libel suit and sine then he has been noticing strange faces trailing him around while series of death threat messages are being sent to his mobile phone.
He however, vowed to fight on by seeking redress in the court of law while further reacting on the development, maintaining that money that he generated from the developmental project of the Olubadan Stadium were what attracted the FA to the administration of IFA and not for the interest of the game as they claimed.
Other IFA members that also got five years ban each are Alhaji Adenira Adeyemo, Coach Moshood Adigun, Mr. Folorunsho Oyelakin, Alhaji Abidoye Olotu, former 3SC team manager Alhaji Yinusa Alani Salami and Mr. Kayode Adebajo.
The IFA boss added that the developers that are handling constructions of lock-up shops around the stadium are to pay the sum of =N= 20 million being part of the deal to IFA this month, and that was what responsible for the witch-hunting being experienced from the Oyo FA that have never asked how they’ve been managing the affairs of the place for the past 13 years.
