Scam In Nigeria National League
Published: September 21, 2015The scam in the Nigeria National League continued with the award of three points and three goals to Adamawa United after the stalemated match against Kogi United.
Stakeholders of the game have been asking questions on reasons why the NNL has become a league for the highest bidder.
For those that have followed the league in the recent years, it has always been full of controversial in the final bend of every season.
The NNL should be a league that should be free from politics and corruption. In this case it’s far from a league that we should be proud of.
The league is far from being sanitised unlike the Premier Division that has been hailed due to the organizational skills of the custodians involved.
It’s very unfortunate that clubs had in one way or the other benefited from the show of shame by the second-tier league in Nigeria.
In this case, the Kogi United lost out to the powers of those at the top, a situation that is nothing but unfortunate.
The reality of relegation has already set in for the Wada Boys and it’s something that is painful when justice doesn’t take it full cause in matters and situations.
Those at the helms of affairs in the football family in Nigeria should make sure that adequate measures are put in place to stop the scam we always notice in the NNL on regular basis.
Why always NNL? A question an aggrieved fan asked recently. This politicking has got to stop if we are to rate the body as a credible one.
It’s all about “who know who”, “your money in your hand” and all sorts of illegal ways of judging cases.
