Obafemi Martins And Tesho Akindele In The Running For Goal Of The Week Award
Published: September 14, 2015Nigeria international Obafemi Martins and Canada international Tesho Akindele have both been nominated for the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week award for week 28.
Seattle Sounders DP Martins made the shortlist on the back of his acrobatic overhead kick that leveled the scoreline against San Jose Earthquakes while FC Dallas forward Akindele’s 45th minute strike versus New York City will also be voted for by MLS fans.
Completing the five - man shortlist are Krisztián Németh (Sporting Kansas City ), David Accam (Chicago Fire) and Diego Fagundez (New England Revolution).
Obafemi Martins has won the Goal of the Week award three times in the 2015 season.
The winner of the most eye - catching goal will be revealed by the official website of the MLS on Friday night.
