Birkirkara Retain Shola Shodiya And Ini Etim Akpan
Published: June 25, 2015Maltese Premier League team Birkirkara FC have retained the services of striker Shola Shodiya and goalkeeper Ini Etim Akpan for the upcoming season.
The 30 - year - old goalkeeper Akpan found first team opportunities difficult to come by last season, having failed to make a single appearance in the championship.
Following a botched move to Boavista and SK Brann, Shodiya had no option but to return to The Stripes in October 2014, and it took him time before he got his mojo back as he failed to find the back of the net in eight games on the bounce.
Shodiya ended the season with 7 goals in 21 matches, with 70 percent of the goals coming in a three - match spell from December 21 to January 10,2015.
Birkirkara’s official game of the new season is a Europa League fixture against Ulisses on July 8.
