Barcelona Defender Godswill Ekpolo Delighted To Return To Action
Published: June 10, 2015Barcelona B defender Elohor Godswill Ekpolo was pleased to take part in a post - season friendly against Japanese club Avispa Fukuoka on Wednesday.
The Nigeria target, who also possesses a Spanish passport, struggled with injuries last term and he admitted as much after today’s game at Level 5 Stadium.
Elohor Godswill Ekpolo made the starting line - up and helped The Blaugrana keep a clean sheet against their Japanese opponents.
“Very happy to play with my team after a long injury. Thank you team and thank you God,” Ekpolo stated.
“Looking forward to start the season, with a big challenge but nothing is impossible. Avispa FC(Japan) 0-5 Barça B.”
The 20 - year - old did not feature in a single Segunda División game during the 2014 - 2015 campaign because he was not registered for the championship as a result of the ailment.
Born in Benin City, Ekpolo has defended the colours of the youth teams of Barcelona for the past ten years.
