Birthday Boy Chidi Omeje Happy To Score For AFC United
Published: May 06, 2015AFC United striker Chidi Omeje marked his 25th birthday by scoring his club’s last goal in their 3 - 1 win over Assyriska in the Superettan on Tuesday.
In the last ten minutes of the game, referee Antti Kanerva dismissed three AFC United players - Wicks, Elia and El Kabir.
They were defending a one - goal lead until the Nigerian popped up with an insurance goal in injury time to secure all three points for the visitors.
“It means a lot to me because it was my birthday and I feel good that i scored and most importantly that we won against such a strong team with eight men, ” Omeje said to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“We have played three draws, which I don’t think is a bad result judging that we have a lot of new players and we are just getting to know each other better.
