Flying Eagles Star Obinna Nwobodo To Spend At Least Eight Months On The Treatment Table
Published: May 02, 2015Obinna Nwobodo has been ruled out of the Fifa Under 20 World Cup due to a cruciate ligament injury he sustained at the African Youth Championship, the NFF has announced through official sources.
Therefore the Enugu Rangers midfielder will not be on the plane to Germany later today for a training camp ahead of the tournament in New Zealand.
Instead, officials of the Nigeria Football Federation and the National Sports Commission will fly him to an undisclosed country abroad for treatment.
Obinna Nwobodo will need to undergo surgery which will rule him out of action for at least eight months.
The 18 - year - old picked up the man of the match accolade when the Flying Eagles clashed with their Ghanaian counterparts in Senegal at the AYC.
