Asisat Oshoala Surprised To Make Women Footballer of the Year Shortlist
Published: April 27, 2015Liverpool striker Asisat Oshoala has spoken of her joy after learning that she made the shortlist of the BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year Award.
But the 20 - year - old has admitted that she was pleasantly surprised to be nominated for the prestigious award.
“I worked hard last year but I am surprised to be nominated. I feel very appreciated and I give God the glory,” she told thenff.com.
The ex Rivers Angels poster girl penned a two - year contract with Liverpool in January.
She has averaged 0.5 goals per game since she made her debut for the Women’s Super League champions.
