Atvidabergs FF Make U - Turn, To Head To CAS If They Fail To Reach Agreement With Ismaily On Owoeri
Published: April 22, 2015åtvidabergs FF are hoping to reconcile with Ismaily after Fifa punished their striker John Owoeri for unlawfully terminating his contract with the Egyptian club in 2012.
The Swedish topflight club will be forced to cough up $150,000 damages to Ismaily if the Nigeria international is unable to settle the liability.
But they have contacted a lawyer and will head to CAS if Ismaily do not settle the dispute amicably, which differs from their earlier stand on the case.
“We have received an exemption from CAS to temporarily pause the matter,” says Marie-Anne Lindhardt, a lawyer at MAQS Law Firm, to Corren, according to fotbolltransfers.com.
“Discussions are in full swing with the parties involved. Where We finally lands we do not know.”
John Owoeri has maintained that he was forced to unilaterally terminate his contract with Ismaily due to unpaid wages and entitlements of approximately $50,000.
