Shortly after the African Youth Championship, coach Manu Garba had recommended to his superiors that the squad should start training in Abuja in two days time.
For the time being, NFF’s power brokers have suggested that the proposed date for the commencement of camping is no longer feasible, and Sunday, April 12th is the new date put forward by Manu Garba and his backroom staff.
“Manu Garba is still waiting to hear from the Nigeria Football Federation. The Flying Eagles will no longer resume camping on Tuesday,” an insider at the NFF told SL10.ng
“I think maybe they’ll resume on the 12th of April. The NFF has not approved anything yet.”
In the same vein, the NFF has long submitted the provisional list of 35 players summoned for the training camp to Fifa.
And the Federation will not have to part with a single dime to football’s governing body as fine for late submission.
“The NFF is delaying the list from being made public, I don’t know the reason because the list is with them and they have forwarded it to Fifa already,” the source added.
The African champions are in Group E of the Fifa Under 20 World Cup alongside Brazil, North Korea and Hungary.
