Michael Ibiyomi Eyes League Title With RoPS
Published: March 29, 2015Newly acquired RoPS striker Michael Ibiyomi has spoken of his delight at scoring against FC Flora in a pre - season friendly.
But the 21 - year - old had some kind words for the Estonian team, calling them one of the best teams featuring in the Meistriliiga, despite the 2 - 0 loss they suffered at the hands of their Finnish opponents.
“It was good scoring against the best team in Estonia.They came out strong but we were able to resist their several attacks and we got the day.
“First goal came from Makitalon in the 33rd minute,” Michael Ibiyomi told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Speaking further, Ibiyomi boasted that RoPS stand a chance of winning the Finnish Veikkausliiga when quizzed about the team’s target for the upcoming season.
“RoPS target for the season is to win the Veikkausliiga. We have a very strong team now and I believe we will win the league,” he concluded.
In their opening match of the season, RoPS will tackle defending champions HJK Helsinki at Rovaniemen Keskuskenttä on April 12, 2015.
