Jose Mourinho Confirms Obi Mikel Will Spend One Month On The Sidelines
Published: March 03, 2015Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, has confirmed that Nigeria international John Obi Mikel will spend one month on the sidelines after undergoing knee surgery.
Thus, the central midfielder will be absent when the Super Eagles take on Bolivia in Uyo in an international friendly on the 26th of March.
“Mikel had a little surgery on his meniscus,” Jose Mourinho told reporters at a press conference.
“We are expecting him to be out for about a month - one week is already gone. There is not too much optimism or pessimism.
“I would say (he will be back) first week of April.”
The 27 - year - old will be unavailable for selection in Premier League games against West Ham, Southampton and Hull City plus the Champions League clash at home to Paris Saint Germain.
