Sylvester Igboun : Bad Decision By The Referee To Send Off Rilwan Hassan
Published: November 24, 2014
FC Midtjylland striker Sylvester Igboun says the red card handed out by
referee Lars Christoffersen to compatriot Rilwan Hassan in the Danish
Superliga on Sunday was undeserved.
For the second time in stoppage time this season, the Nigerian winger was dismissed after his introduction as a substitute.
“Rilwan’s red card was a bad decision by the referee because he was not diving, I was in front of him and witnessed the incident,” says Sylvester Igboun to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“The Aalborg player made contact with him, maybe not too much to award a penalty but definitely not a yellow card.
“I just feel sorry for him because he started the season very good and injury came, and now he came back from the injury and he is getting a red card he didn’t deserve.”
The FC Midtjylland number 44 scored his seventh goal of the season, hitting target in the 27th minute before Marco Urena completed the scoring five minutes before the break.
“The game was very fine because we took control of the game from start to finish, we were the best team yesterday and the result was well deserved
“Yes we scored the two goals in the first half, but we created a lot more in the second. We didn’t score but the most important thing is that we didn’t give the opponents the chance to score,” Igboun concluded.
Sylvester Igboun has started 14 games contested by FC Midtjylland in the league so far this season.
