Published: September 18, 2014
Italian - Nigerian Stefano Okaka has admitted that he is enjoying a new lease of life at Sampdoria.
The attacker has pointed out that there was so much weight on his shoulders during his time at Roma, where he was considered to be one of the talents in Italian Football.
“At age 17, in Rome there were many pressures on me. That is in the past and now I am grown.
“It was not easy for me to play with those great champions. Now I am understanding what it means to play at a high level and have fun in the field,” said Stefano Okaka to Sky Italia.
He added : “I heard from Totti four to five days ago. I am close to both him and Daniele De Rossi. Three or four years ago, I made a decision and I am happy about it, and I thank Sampdoria coach Mihajlovic for giving me this opportunity.”
Stefano Okaka defended the purple and yellow colours of Roma from 2005 - 2012, chalking up 33 Serie A appearances before severing ties with the capital outfit.
