Sidney Sam To Skip Game Against Schalke 04
German international of Nigerian descent Sidney Sam, 26, will skip Bayer Leverkusen’s game with Schalke 04 on Saturday even though he has fully recovered from a hamstring injury that previously sidelined him.

Manager Sami Hyypia has said that Sam will not be considered for selection as he becomes a player of Schalke 04 with effect from this summer.

“I think that it is better for him that he is not in the squad. I think that would not be good that he will play against Schalke,

I think thats a good rule. I do not know why its different in Germany. That may be fine, that can go wrong. I think it’s funny that it is so,” Sami Hyypia said.

Sidney Sam is the joint top goalscorer and assist provider for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga with 7 goals and 7 assists.
