Supreme FC Gear Up For New NNL season
Published: February 09, 2014New entrants into the Nigeria National League (NNL) Supreme FC of Abuja have rounded off its warm up matches preparatory to the start of the 2013/2014 league season slated to take off this weekend.
According to the fixtures which were earlier conducted by NNL officials in Abuja, Supreme FC will open their NNL account with an away tie with Niger Tornadoes in Minna on Saturday.
The Abuja-based top league hopeful before and after the yuletide have been engaging several clubs in friendly games alongside their intense training programmes which have witnessed players fighting hard for shirts with the knowledge of high expectations from their teaming fans.
In one of the warm-up matches decided at the weekend, Supreme FC held Premier League bound side Kaduna United to a 1-1 draw in Kaduna.
Before then, Supreme had won Amac FC 2-0, pounded Jay 1 Academy 6-0 before posting superlative 4-1 win against Lugbe Selected among others.
Ahead of a possible crunchy new NNL season, plans are on top gear by the management of one of the Clubs representing Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to ensure that Supreme FC return Premier League action to the nation’s capital in line with its resolve to set a record.
Supreme FC General Manager Mr Tolulpe Oguntimehin who disclosed this in Abuja affirmed “nothing will be left to chance as we continue to shape up in anticipation of the challenges ahead.
“The players and technical crew are in high spirit and the management of the club is doing all within its power to keep the team focused.”
