Freekick Expert Taye Taiwo Nets First Super Lig Goal For Bursaspor
Published: November 10, 2013
While Nigerian fans have refused to shed tears following the decision of manager Stephen Keshi not to invite Taye Taiwo to the National Team, the fullback is enjoying a new lease of life in Turkey.
In the 11th round of matches in the Super League, the ex AC Milan, Queens Park Rangers and Marseille defender netted his first ever goal for Bursaspor in the championship.
At the Eylül Stadium, where Sivasspor entertained Bursaspor, Burhan Eser opened scoring for the home team in the 59th minute before Taye Taiwo equalized with one of his trademark free-kicks in the 77th minute.
Ten minutes before regulation time, Sivasspor, missing the services of Nigeria international John Utaka, snatched all three points thanks to Aatif Chahechouhe goal.
