Dudu Omagbemi Takes The Blame For Cup Final Loss
Published: September 30, 2013
Nigerian attacker Dudu Omagbemi took the walk of shame in the Finnish Cup final on Saturday between KuPS and RoPS, who paraded compatriots Obilor, Ndukaku and Emenike.
KuPS manager Esa Pekonen has argued that the dismissal of the Nigerian in the second half played a role in the loss suffered by his team.
“Match a lot more difficult after his exit. Completely incomprehensible to follow, teammates and coaches point. Completely unforgivable act.
“The loss is a loss, but if the player himself contributes a lot about it, then it is inexcusable.
“Usually I try to be silent in the public what players are doing, but now the representative of the club I would like to tell you that I can not accept this,” Pekonen told reporters at a press conference.
Thanks to their 2 - 1 win over KuPS, RoPS will play in the first qualifying round of the 2014 - 2015 Europa League.
And they are guaranteed at least 120,000 euros from UEFA as prize money from participating in the competition.
