Turkish Federation Fines Raheem Lawal 2,500 Euros
Published: September 21, 2013Turkish Federation Professional Football Disciplinary Committee (PFDK) has fined Nigeria international Raheem Adewole Lawal 6,500 Turkish Lira (equivalent of 2,500 euros) following his dismissal in the penultimate round of matches in the First League.
The Mersin Ä°dmanyurdu midfielder scored after 9 minutes against Manisaspor, but was later shown a straight red card by referee Abdullah Yilmaz just before the end of the first half.
In addition to the financial penalty, Raheem Lawal has been suspended for one match, according to a release by the PFDK.
Prior to the incident on September 14, the 23 - year - old midfielder had never taken the walk of shame in his last three years as a professional footballer.
Raheem Lawal has suited up 3 times for The Red Devils in Turkey’s second - tier this season.
