Chibuzor Okonkwo Should Be Super Eagles Regular - Coach Ranko
Published: September 17, 2013WIthout yet kicking a ball in Libya for his new club Alswehly FC Super Eagles international right back Chibuzor Austin Okonkwo has already been taken the Libyan football scene by storm with his superlative displays for Alswehly FC and his coach has tipped him for greatness, wondering why he (Chibuzor) is not a regular starter in the Super Eagles.
According to sources close to allnigeriasoccer.com, Ranko Vidic the Serbian coach of Alswehly FC is relishing the prospect of lining up the utility player when the Libyan league starts on the 27th of this month, saying that Chibuzor is one of the best wing backs in the world and wondering why he is not in the Super Eagles.
“According to coach Ranko, when they had the opportunity to take Chibuzor on loan they grabbed it with both hands because he is a player of undoubted class.
“He has come here and proved it too with his displays in the Four Team pre season friendly they played recently, and his attitude and professionalism on and off the pitch,” commented our source.
“To him, Chibuzor is one of the best wing backs in world football today.
“He can use him at right back or left back and you will never know which is his best position because he performs creditably well in both positions.
“He (Ranko) heard he is good too in midfield though he hasn't had a chance to play him there, may be he will when the league commences.
“He is an asset to any coach because in case of any need to change your game plan in the middle of a game, with him on the pitch it gives you good options even if you have made all your substitutions.
“That makes him even more dependable and a must have for any team.
“At the preseason tournament he was simply the best player by miles, no surprise he won two man of the match awards and the tournaments MVP.
“For a defender, that’s awesome,” gushed our source.
"It is a surprise to coach Rankp and the whole of Alswehly FC and Libya that Chibuzor, or Austin as he is better known here, is not a regular starter for the Super Eagles of Nigeria," concluded our source.
